The administration of US President Donald Trump is moving towards dismantling water regulations put in place by Barack Obama.
Environmental groups say the executive order signed by Trump signals a disaster in terms of keeping water sources clean. The move demonstrates the weakening of the Environmental Protection Agency, they said.
“[Trump] vows to promote clean water and clean air but his rhetoric is different than his actions, so our lives at stake. What we pass on to future generations is at stake,” said Kentucky Waterways Alliance Water policy director Bijaya Shrestha.
