Carbon water Filter, Sawyer Squeeze, Sawyer mini…

The Katadyn BeFree Filter was introduced last year in a 0.6 L version. A few days ago, they released a 1.0 L version which is perfect for UL backpacking. In this video, I give some initial thoughts on the filter and compare it to the Sawyer filters that have dominated the market the last 5 years. I will follow up with a long-term review once I have had a chance to test it in the field. So far, I’m pretty excited!

The filter is currently available from REI online and in store:

For homeowners that want to install a water softener and filter combo options can be limited when there isn’t a basement or a room underneath the house. When you’re purchasing a Whole House Water Filter and Softener (https://www.pelicanwater.com/water-filter-and-salt-free-softeners.php) from Pelican Water Systems consider installing your filtration and softener system outside the home!

In this timelapse video our professionals demonstrate just how easy it is to install a Pelican Combo Series product on the outside wall of your home and connect it to your existing plumbing. The entire process can be completed in a matter of hours, and no specialized tools …

In this video I check out the Gravity Water Filter System made by Sawyer, the same company that makes the Sawyer Mini. This is a very cool filter setup that would be great for a camp or for providing water for your entire family during a disaster.

I recently wrote an article about picking the right water filter for preppers, and I wanted to do a video that goes into a little more detail about water filters, and the water cleaning process. You can read that article here: http://survivalistprepper.net/whats-the-right-water-filter-for-preppers/

For anyone who is just getting into preparedness, or confused about which water filter is the right water filter, this video will explain a lot to you. I not only talk about the Sawyers, the Katadys, the LifeStraw and the Berkey, I go over why they are effective, and how effective they are.
